Would you like to build your own tray, coaster or pan holder at Buildher? This is your chance!
Join us for our last workshop of the year and make something decorative and useful for the festive season, a gift or simply something nice to have at home!
Over four evenings, we’ll build easy-to-make items for your kitchen and table using reclaimed materials. This time, we’ll also work with tiles, adding colour and a heat-resistant surface to your project. You can keep your design simple or make it with different combinations of wood and tiles. With guidance from the Buildher volunteer team, you’ll get hands-on practice with tools, materials, and basic woodworking skills that you can use for future projects.
By the end, you’ll take home your own handmade creations, ready to use for hot chocolate, a warm pan of soup, or to serve something when friends come over for Christmas or other event.
Schedule:
18th November: Introduction & ideas: We’ll get to know each other, share what we want to build, look at available materials such as wood and tiles, and get an introduction to the tools.
25th November: Lets build!: This session is dedicated to hands-on time in the workshop. Since you build what you like, there’s no strict step-by-step instruction, but the Buildher team will guide and support you throughout.
2nd December: More building time: We continue working on our projects and getting guidance when we need it. Want to add some details, make changes, or try something new? This is the time to do it.
9th December: Wrap-up & community social: Final tweaks, finishing touches, and time to admire what we’ve made together while we enjoy snacks and a cup of coffee or tea.

Who can join: Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join. This workshop is beginner-friendly and designed to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

We’re big fans of reusing and recycling, so we’ll mainly work with reclaimed materials and give used materials a new life. You’re also welcome to bring any additional materials you’d like to incorporate into your project.
Note: painting/varnishing of your design will need to be done in your own time.
