Whether it’s for storing, organising or carrying, boxes are always needed and, with this workshop, you can make a box that fits exactly what you need.
This course is for everyone, whether you have some experience or are a complete beginner in carpentry; just come with an idea and we will help you to bring to life.
Over four evenings at Buildher, we will create and build our own boxes to the size and purpose we choose. With guidance from the Buildher volunteer team, you’ll get hands-on practice with tools, materials, and basic woodworking skills that you can use for future projects. By the end, you’ll take home a useful box made to your own needs, and what is even better, you will be part of the growing reuse community here in Trondheim.
Schedule:
7th October: Introduction & ideas: We’ll get to know each other, share what we want to build, look at available materials, and get an introduction to the tools and the space.
14th October: Lets build!: This session is dedicated to hands-on time in the workshop. Since you build what you like, there’s no strict step-by-step instruction, but the Buildher team will guide and support you throughout.
21st October: More building time: We continue working on our boxes and getting guidance when we need it. Want to add some details, make changes, or try something new? This is the time to do it.
28th October: Wrap-up & community social: Final tweaks, finishing touches, and time to admire what we’ve made together.

Who can join: Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join. This workshop is beginner-friendly and designed to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

We also are big fans of reusing and recycling. So wherever possible we will reuse material. If you need additional materials for your design, then it is up to you to source them. Note: painting and varnishing of your design, will need to be done in your own time.
