We need your help to keep our space!
Norway & Trondheim’s first women-led non-profit carpentry workshop*, is at a crossroads.
Despite our best efforts, we have not secured the funding needed to keep providing inclusive and empowering workshops in 2025. Now, we’re turning to our amazing community to ensure Buildher can continue making a difference.
What We Need
We urgently need funds to:
Pay for rent and utilities to keep our space open.
Maintain and improve our tools and equipment.
Offer free and low-cost workshops for women in our community.
Expand outreach to those who traditionally haven’t had access to such opportunities.
How you can help
Every contribution counts! Whether it’s 50 NOK or 5,000 NOK, your support will help keep Buildher alive and thriving.

Buildher is more than a workshop. It’s a safe and welcoming space where women from all walks of life learn essential carpentry skills, create furniture, and build confidence. Over the past few years, we’ve empowered hundreds of women, hosted dozens of events, and shown that carpentry isn’t just a skill—it’s a tool for independence and self-expression.
Why Buildher matters…
Buildher has had significant impact already, which is why we are so keen to continue…
Established from an idea into a non-profit organisation
We have taught over 300 people basic skills. Of which at least 90% of the people had no previous experience with woodworking.
We have run weekly open workshops and had at least one event a month.
Scaled from a team of 2 to a team of 10.
Scaled up to a network of 700 people
Gotten interest from all over Norway and been invited to present the Buildher in Oslo Makersfestival
Increased step by step from a suitcase of tools to a 75m2 workshop in Nyhavna. One of Trondheim’s important areas of redevelopment
Contributed to dialogue and a network for creating a future fellesverksted
Has almost exclusively used reuse materials
“Buildher is all about the community. It is a collective of creatives, empowering each other”
— Georgina Seviour, Founder and Leader
